I was really looking forward to this year WWDC, because since more or less 2 years I waited for a new MacBook, which fits my needs (and somehow I hoped for a redesign, although there isnt actually one thing I could claim to the current).

The MacBook Retina is a great machine, but I wanted a MacBook Pro 13″ with dedicated graphics and a thinner (&lighter) design. Because of that I nearly switched to the MacBook Air: 13″, thin and light, better resolution than my Pro, but no dedicated graphics, no firewire and with 512 GB flash storage nearly as expensive as the MacBook Retina.

In the end I chose to upgrade my MacBook Pro (early 2011 version) and make it a bit more high-end:

– 512 GB SSD from Crucial
– 16 GB Ram from Komputerbay

With this configuration I can easily wait another 2 years for a machine with no compromises.
